Default F9 pulling out of DAY. Can't compete with WN

Frontier Airlines is ending service out of Dayton by cutting its once-daily flights to Denver, the Dayton Business Journal reports.
The airline on Jan. 3 dropped service to Denver from two flights a day down to one, and will halt service completely May 31 to avoid competing with Southwest Airlines (NYSE:LUV) which began flights between Dayton and Denver last summer.
Frontier still flies between Denver International Airport and Indianapolis and Cleveland, the Denver Business Journal reports. It serves Cincinnati and Columbus but does not fly from those points to Denver.

I can see that, though maybe they could have given it a try with one of their E-jets (like F9 does DEN-MSN). Right now they've got WN's 737, F9's A320, and UA's CRJ-700, which is probably the right size plane for a route like that. DAY is relatively small, and DEN is a pretty far reach for a city like that.

PROFIT PROFIT PROFIT. If F9 can't make money they can't be in business. SW management bests Frontier in almost ALL challenge cities.
