JetBlue began flights between New York LaGuardia on Oct. 31, launching service on a route that has long been dominated by the Delta and American (formerly US Airways) shuttle services.

JetBlue was able to start six weekday round-trip flights between the cities, freeing up space for the service by shifting some of its previous LaGuardia service to New Jersey's Newark Liberty International Airport.

JetBlue kicked off its Boston-New York LaGuardia flights by offering fares as low as $49 each way, substantially undercutting what had been the standard weekday fares for the American and Delta shuttles.
