A district court in California ordered Virgin America and its owner Alaska Airlines to pay over USD77 million in damages, restitution, interest, and penalties to its staff for numerous violations of labour laws, including missed breaks and unpaid overtime.


According to Bloomberg Law, 1,400 flight attendants won the class action lawsuit in June 2018. While the court established at the time that the carrier was liable, it did not set the amount of damages and other dues to be paid.
