Default China Airlines (CI) strike ?

Have I missed it - or am I the first to note.....

So heads up for anyone planning to use CI in the near future.......there is a pilots strike currently underway in China Airlines. Causing some disruption on certain routes as far as I can tell.

Beware that other airlines may suddenly become full due to CI stranded passengers or passenger protection.

(Bit of a nuisance for me as planning to use them next month AKL-BNE. May have to actually purchase full fare tickets [ouch !!) as sector is integral part of trip. )

Appreciate the CI update. And while we don't have anyone NZ or VA, we do have an active QF member. And Donna is with AS which may/might/possibly/maybe give her VA access.
    That's all I got *wink*

Yeah, saw this on the news. During Chinese lunar new year too, not good even for those holding confirmed tickets.

Thanks Mig and all. I have bitten the bullet and purchased full fare tickets on VA for Mrs Lee and me. Only cost £20 more than standby tickets on CI, and includes baggage. Bargain !!

Had interesting trip down there last week. Not on CI, just AA all the way. Will post something later, once I have wiped the jet lag from my eyes.

AND........its all over now, according to recent news reports. Part of the deal is that the pilots have undertaken not to strike again for next 3.5 years. (Diary note made !!)
