My coworker did that recently. DEN-IAH-UIO, spent some time there, then UIO-GPS for a day or two before heading back. Short and sweet trip, but he loved it.

UIO is a really awesome place as well. I went there a couple times, but never did get out to GPS. I'd love to go there sometime......same with IPC

Definately a place I've seen so much on TV about that really makes me want to visit there. I saw a recent film on National Geographic channel, said that some 30 years ago, something like 2000 people living on island, now like 30,000. Like anyplace else, it seems like slowly but surely visiting the Galapagos will be harder to do and become a tourist trap. If it hasn't all ready. I'm curious to know. Did your co-worker buy a ticket from Quito to Galapagos or did he zed nonrev it? I would think I would probably buy a pos space ticket. I think roughly about 800 bucks round trip from Quito or so. I would have to do at least 7 full days there to even make the trip worthwhile. I'd like to snorkel around there and see some sea lions and hammerheads.

I'm assuming he bought a ticket for that - I don't think he even had the 6 months of seniority for a ZED at the time. Didn't realize that those GPS flights are really expensive, so who knows. Then again, he is the type to live a simple life at home, but travel a lot.
