For nearly six months now, Dallas-based Southwest Airlines has been teasing news of eminent service that it is launching from the mainland United States to Hawaii. Late last year, the carrier leaked news of the launch over Twitter, strangely, and then officially confirmed the news through other channels.

In March, the airline
started getting permits to land at several Hawaiian airports. Earlier this week, it was was comfortable announcing that the first airports that it would serve in Hawaii would be HNL, LIH, OGG and KOA. Now, the carrier has revealed that four Californian cities will serve as departure points for the routes. According to the LA Times, Southwest plans to operate Hawaii-bound flights from , OAK, SAN, SJC and SMF starting as early as this year.
