Default Any issues with traveling internationally and turning back around?

I have some time off between Xmas and New Years and I was thinking of just taking a couple of days to fly on a plane, just for the heck of it. To me it is a chance to relax on a plane. I was thinking of heading over to NRT and once I land, head on over to the return flight back to the States. 1. is this frowned upon? 2. would I have an issue with US Customs since I just turned right back around?

    Thanks!

You should have no issues. People do it all the time specially in December looking for miles to maintain their elite status. I have done it once with a quick same plane turn around in FRA. The immigration officer at ORD on return said "you are one of those". In case they ask you, I am sure you can explain the reason. If you are going that far why not spend a day or two Tokyo if you have time?

heck, one of the coolest things I did at NRT was to stay one nt at Pan Pacific Hotel. They have a bar on the 11th floor and you can watch the jumbos land and take off in the fog--awesome!!
I'm going this weekend and spending a nt in Narita town. Can't wait!

If it still exist and the owners still alive, go to the Western Beggar restaurant in the town of Narita
Hanazaki-Cho 531 close to the train station. This restaurant is worth the visit.
By the way, I went 24h in Tokyo without any problems ( I had a confirmed pass I could use anywhere my airline was going but it was before 9/11...Good ol'days)...

I've done this numerous times in Japan (KIX and NRT) with no issues. However I did this once to SYD and spent two hours being "interviewed" by their version of Immigrations and Customs. Ended up getting a full pat-down search in full view of other arriving passengers, getting dirty looks like I was presumed to be a terrorist. They even did a test for traces of explosives on my backpack. After that they finally let me go. All I wanted to do was go see the harbor and Opera House in the six hours between landing and the return flight. They couldn't believe that someone would want to do it.

I wrote a little trip report about my experience on a quick turnaround ATL-KWI-ATL a few years ago. It wasn't a huge deal, but I did have to go through secondary in ATL.

We were unable to transfer the blogs and photos from our previous site.
Fortunately many members reposted there blog entries here as trip reports.
C-19 you’re going to have to initiate total recall.

There was a link (2010), but it’s been a little bit too long now, the link is a dead end.
