Thread: UH OH Dress Code!!

I've got a feeling that some employee is going to get in a lot of trouble, though to their credit it was just awful luck that a third party witness made such a huge fuss about it. If they hadn't, I'm guessing the pax wouldn't have either.

That's a really low blow by Delta. Surely they have a nonrev dress code as well, probably saying the same thing, and United said in their statement that regular passengers are welcome to wear leggings.

Oh, and if I (a fairly large 28-year-old male) tried to wear leggings as a nonrevenue passenger, I'd very rightfully be denied boarding as well

Bue--we do NOT have a specific dress code anymore. It's been gone for 10 yrs. Did anyone read the rest of the tweets? Obviously not...

Well the initial response from UL didn’t help.

Well that response really ignited the leggings firestorm, people/the tweeter universe, ran with the story that all UL passengers wearing leggings/spandex could be barred from flights.
I must say when I first heard this story, I thought, the pax might be non-revs - last ones on, they changed quickly and they didn’t put up a fuss, besides leggings on a flight - really, I see that all the time. The tweet, as Spongebue pointed out, was posted by an uninvolved third party.
But now this whole thing has just blown up, some celebrities have even been quoted as saying the leggings ban was obviously gender discrimination. A guy here is even asking UL pax to wear tank tops and spandex on their flights (I don’t even want to think about that).

You're right, 76'er, I did read the responses more thoroughly after posting. Still, it's not too crazy of an idea for an airline to not allow nonrevs to wear leggings, and it doesn't affect regular customers. I still call it a low-blow for Delta to attack another airline's nonrevenue dress code just to make themselves look good.
