    Default Nonrev Luggage Charges?

I heard that Air France is charging for nonrev checked luggage (and charging by kilo). Can anyone confirm this, and if so, give some idea how much it is to check a bag when non-reving on Air France? I would be doing this as a ZED.

I'm looking at CDG-LHR or CDG-BOS, but really just want some idea how they do it, if this is true.

    Thanks,
    M

I doubt this is true, if you look at your ZED ticket most include a baggage allowance... mine all say 20kg.

    AAZED - any advice?

AF have not, that I'm aware of, advised the industry that it would collect 1st or 2nd checked bag fees. Other than routine excess baggage fees (i.e., 3rd piece and/or weight) only US Airways collects checked bag fees from airline employees.

    Hello!

Recently flew on KLM and Air France, and you are allowed the same baggage allowance they allow their paying passengers. I called the KLM Employee Listing line and was advd to follow the regulations listed on thier website.

Note too that the ZED agreement requires that the allow a minimum of 1 piece where the piece system is applied or 20 K. ZED members may unilaterally decide to allow more (e.g., equal to commercial customers) but they are required to allow the mimimum.

From what I know the only airline charging nonrevs like regular pax for bags is US.

Just saw this thread. Here is an updated luggage experience flying DL MSP-CDG and then onward on AF CDG-EVN. DL allows non-revs 2 pieces each so the two of us had 4 pieces between us. We have flown this route several times over the past 3 years and never had a problem getting all 4 pieces to our destination and never had a charge for extra luggage UNTIL this year! In March of this year (2015) when we got to the transfer desk in CDG, they said AF only allows 1 piece each even though DL allows 2 each. Therefore we were charged for 2 pieces of luggage AND THEN (this is second time it's happened with this route) only 2 pieces made it to EVN, we waited a couple days for the remaining 2 pieces to catch up to us. Maybe we got lucky all those other times traveling and this time got busted with 2 pieces each.

I wondered if AF does this with all their connecting DL non-revs/ZED fare passengers? Anyone else have this experience?

I can't even imagine traveling with more than one piece of carry-on luggage! We're buying rev tickets from AF to fly CDG/MLA (Malta) and we are permitted 1 checked bag, 23K, no charge. I'm not sure why AF would permit nonrevs to take more than revs?
Note: Each rev tkt is only $25 more than zed low--the peace of mind alone is worth that! AND we can go straight to transfer desk.

Yeah, when we are traveling for fun we also travel light!

We are currentlyliving overseas and as volunteer teachers so when we can go back to the States, we return overseas with supplies and materials you cannot get here, so it's not all our things we drag back.

I can't seem to get the RI confirmed to work for me on MyIdTravel for AF EVN-CDG. Maybe I'm missing something?
