Feel sorry for my friends at US and AA, especially the ones that started at HP. So much upheaval in such a short amount of time.

Those that started at TW, then had to move to DFW when AA bought them, now may have to relocate to PIT (if it goes through). Likewise, friends that started at HP relocated to PIT, could possibly have to move to DFW.

    Crazy industry we work in.

Also, can't imagine the turmoil upcoming for the pilot groups trying to integrate. It's been five years and still east vs. west. Now throw in AA and then what?

...and I understand this is just paperwork and not a takeover/buyout yet.

Yeah, the pilot and flt attendants still have separate contracts. I think this is the only way they will ever get integrated (if hey get integrated at all). I'm not looking forward to the Maintenance end of things either.

Actually because the pilots and F/A group are much larger at AA they would out vote F/A's and the pilot groups at US. Basically the Easst and West pilots wojuld have to agree to agree if you must on the seniority issue, It will be very interesting to see how this all plays out. Doug learned from his mistake when he tried to take over DL and that failed miserably, he decided to get the unions over at AMR to support him first and work from there. I am of the thought that there is much more to this than meets the eye, in my very personal opinion if this was annonced today (the whole unions backing Doug)he must think the majority of the creditors are on his sside. All I hope for is that most of us get to keep our jobs, but we know how that goes. I have many friends who work at HDQ and different support areas around PHX so I know this must be nerve wrecking for all of us in PHX to say the least.

Ha yeah, it's nerve racking for all of us! Nevertheless, I'm on the horse, I can't jump off in midstream now. I'll have to wait until I'm thrown off.
