Can anyone tell me the dress code on Qantas? We are leaving HNL - SYD - BNE - SYD and back to HNL Aug.23- Sept 8 loads look good but got back up on AC coming home just in case. Can you ist for first or business on Quantas or when you check in can you ask availability for it? Thanks Jessica

    Hey there,

You can only list for Y class, and then provided you have an upgardeable ticket, this is usually done either at the time of check in or at boarding. Best ask at the gate. QF don't usually have a brilliant reputation for upgrading interliners without appropriate tickets.. though miracles have been know to happen :-) As for the loads, yes 8 Sept looks very good, just now looking at the factor.

    Dress code as follows:

    First and Business Class Travel
    Acceptable
    Male Passengers
Suit, trousers (including cords, dress jeans - not blue denim) Business shirts and smart collared casual shirts may be worn open necked. Ties, jackets, jumpers are optional.
    Female Passengers
Dress, suit, skirt/pants (including dress jeans - not blue denim), 3/4 pants and blouse/top. Jacket is optional.

    Not Acceptable
Tracksuits, blue denim jeans or jeans with cut off and frayed hems, designer holes etc. Shorts, singlets, bare midriffs, strapless tops/dresses, overly revealing clothing, rubber thongs or bare feet.

    Economy Class Travel
    Acceptable
    Adult Passengers
Clean, neat and conservative appearance. All passengers should be well groomed at all times. Tidy denim jeans, near knee-length dress shorts, including denim, are acceptable - but no upgrade will be given.

    Not Acceptable
Tracksuits, jeans with cut off and frayed hems, designer holes etc. Singlets, bare midriffs, strapless tops/dresses, overly revealing clothing, rubber thongs or bare feet.

Hope this helps... oh and lastly (pet hate) Qantas is spelled just like that - you got it right the first time ;-)

Shame on QF. They actually upgraded a revenue passenger to business, and gave me the Y class seat. Why couldn’t I get the goodies? (I should probably be glad that they gave me a seat at all, but it felt unfair when standing there as the last passenger in Sydney that night waiting 15 extra minutes for them to make it happen…)

As far as I know unfortunately Qantas won't upgrade a nonrev unless you have bought an upgradable ticket
