    Default Regional Elite

Hey, I applied with Regional Elite a wholly owned sub of DL. I was wondering if anyone else has applied or worked for REAS. Also how long to hear back and what type of flight benefits do they receive? Thanks!

Regional Elite gets unlimited S3C priority flights. Free except intl taxes. No limit on transoceanic flights.

Regional Elite was very hastily thrown together. Comair and Mesaba had many many happy employees, REAS has almost none. There is alot of talk about a possible union at REAS. Nobody I know at REAS feels at all like a valued asset(including me in my time there). I was VERY happy to leave REAS when I did

Yeah, the woman I trained with at SkyWest used to work the ramp for Mesaba at MSP. Soon after she left, they went to Regional Elite instead, and things just haven't really been the same from what I've heard. Not a bad way to start if you like the industry, but keep your eyes open in other directions.

You sure you're transoceanic travel days are unlimited- not just North/South America?
A buddy of mine, who was former Comair (OH), said his were now at 18. Unless this is something new. And why would REAS get unlimited t/o travel when none of the other DL Connection carriers do? Besides being wholly-owned because Delta Global Services (DGS) is wholly-owned and they don't get unlimited t/o travel..
Why the descrepency? Seems to be unfair to the other regional DL Connection employees. I know the DL R/R went from 18 t/o days to unlimited post-merger.

Our limit as Comair before the merger was 18, the same as mainline. Last year Comair and mainline went to unlimited, at the same time Comair dropped from S3 to S3C. I believe REAS flight benefits are the exact same that Comair had.

There's always been discrepencies in policy for DL Conx. ASA and Comair were S3 as they were wholly owned. ASA was sold, but wasn't dropped to S3C for a few years after. Comair is still wholly owned, but was dropped to S3C a few months after ASA. DGS has always been wholly owned, and as long as I was around has always been S3C.

I always found it not quite fair that myself and 1 other employee could bust our tails, and perform every single operations/customer service function to get out an airplane full of DL customers, and sit around the airport all the next day getting bumped off of flights by non dependant adult children of mainline employees when we attempted to make use of our benefits

I work for Regional Elite as a cross utilized customer service agent. I've been with the company for approx. 6 months, and also worked for comair for a bit a few months earlier. Basically I've seen little difference in our operations. Starting pay did go down as I was rehired after finishing school at a lower rate. As stated above flight benefits are unlimited at S3C priority on Delta Mainline flights.... on Connx carriers S3 and S2 can be used. Buddy passed are only awarded after a full year as well as your uniform stipend. Its disheartening to work for RE when all day you serve Delta Passengers, but in the grand scheme of things you are paid less than Delta Mainline employees.

Regional Elite is one of the worst companies to work for in the airline industry
Regional Elite (AKA Delta's red headed step child)

-Lowest paid $8.25/hr top out I think 10/hr after 5 or 6 years
-Flying Benefits not the best, Flying S3C Sucks Big Time, Your bumped by mainline employees/retirees/mainline parents from Day 1, you fly just above a buddy pass which SUCKS !!!!
-Highest employee Turnover/Lowest Employee Morale I have ever seen
-They contract to many other companies United, AA, US etc and you don't get flying benefits on those carriers.
-Poorest Trained/Worst Equipment to work with

Why do you keep bumping so many threads to talk about why you don't like regional elite, usually using "your" instead of "you're" at some point?

Yeah dude give it a break, your mainline now. If you want to blame anyone for the poor pay blame the unions and the consumers who demand cheap tickets. The only really horrible thing about regional elite is that its name should be Elite Airline Services since we handle mainline aircraft. If anything Delta Mainline employees other than Pilots, Flight Attendants, and Mechanics should be worried about their jobs. Regional Elite "We do it cheaper"

When I worked for RE we handed all the UA express flights at our station. UA expected us to dress like an UA employee, Pay out of our own pockets for $50 shirts etc, do the training like a UA employee, weekly lessons etc, and yet we got paid $8.25 an hour. We never got flight benefits on UA. I even talked to one UA mainline express performance manager when he came for a visit about us at RE getting flight benefits at UA, he said "It would cost too much money", How???????? hows does a empty unsold seat cost UA money?? It was one of the worst airline companies I have ever worked for. Im glad I left when I did because contiental has a mainline station there and is about to take over UA express operations and all the RE employees will probably lose their jobs. There is a HUGE push for RE to unionize, if the vote fails no one at RE will ever have a future !!!!
