    Default Getting out of JNB

I know its been a few years since reading any issues with getting out of JNB (mostly on DL).
Has anyone heard any stories recently of standby's having issues with getting seats assigned when they are available.

Thanks, might be heading down next week.

Last thing I knew was about 2 couples (S3B, I think) who stayed 3 extra days, then bought zeds to DXB. We did that and it was horrible, but now that option is not long avail to fly back to ATL on DL. I would never recommend our buddy pass riders (S4) to go JNB/return. I can barely envision us going w/S2. Haven't looked at loads yet, and we only get 2 day history. Any dates in mind? Return is always the worst due to PO.
I hope someone else can assist--maybe LH emps?

PO is one thing to concider but I have read that the JNB employees sometimes do not want to deal with DL standby's (its not DL empl. down there, I think S.A.A. deals with the DL flight)
backup would be 1st KLM to AMS then BA or VA to LHR, as these flights leave after the Delta flight.
Still trying to determine if vacation days needed is worth time spent in CPT (more vacation time needed than days spent in CPT) Coworker is heading down for a quick trip and I am tempted to join.

I checked one flight and it had 100+ seats open. They filled biz and scattered other nonrevs in main cabin in comfort+ where possible. The problem station chief has been gone for a while and emps have apparently been warned about unnecessarily leaving NRs behind (unless PO issue). Personally, I'd go for it if the list looks ok for your priority. There's always Sunrock or another guesthouse (or zed to somewhere...)

$118 to IST, $128 to ZRH on Swiss which leaves after the DL flight.

Hey, if you're going to stop in IST, spend a day or 2 but you need online visa.
dd-so it's $118 on TK, then Swiss to ZRH for $128 to get to States on DL?

No, separately $128 from JNB - ZRH one way.

Unfortunately the shop I work in is sending personnel out to another station to help them out and I will not be able to take the needed time off. Co-worker is still heading down.
We do not have TK or Swiss ZED's. Its also a very short trip with no time to spare in other countries or city's. If the DL flight is missed we have BA, VS, KLM or EK. KLM looks best as it costs less to get back to the US from AMS than LHR. Will ask for loads in a different post.
