Default ATL-BRU-ATL discontinued until March 2017

DL has cancelled ATL-BRU-ATL until March 2017. JFK-BRU-JFK is being retained.

Atlanta to Brussels service suspended | Delta News Hub

The BRU Airport Authority already has and is continuing to implement new security procedures which will severely reduce the passenger handling capacity of the airport, both inbound and outbound. They have asked carriers to reduce capacity by 50% until further notice.

We have an Award trip in J booked (BRU-JFK) in late July. Right now, we're the only 2 pax remaining in J and the load in Y is light for that time of year. The scheduled aircraft is a 76W (35J) and I'm anticipating a downgauging with either a swap to the smaller (25J) running the first JFK-AMS-JFK cycle of the day or even down to a 75W with 15J.

If the loads stay light, it becomes a good alternative to ex-AMS to US for nonrevs in general and Buddy Passes in particular.

I'm not personally concerned about security at BRU for the next few months, It'll be locked down tighter than a prison.

Personally speaking , the ATL - BRU has been loosing money. JFK will prosper.

The JFK-BRU has been a great nonrev opportunity. That'll probably end.

Do you have an opinion on a downgauge? Maybe an interim swap with a JFK-LAX 75S?

That's a possibility, or the 767-4 will be utilized peak summertime.

It has been a great nonrev opportunity, and I think it will still be.
I am not concerned about security either, but many Americans will be.

I do not think they will downgauge it, due to all of the government offices there(UN, EU, NATO).
They get a lot of business traffic on it.
