London Stansted Airport staff are planning a series of strikes in a dispute over pay cuts.
Baggage handlers - who are members of the GMB union and employed by outsourcing company Mitie - will begin the strike over the bank holiday weekend at the end of the month, taking place between 3:30 and 6 o'clock in the morning and the same time in the evening from 8/23 - 8/26/13.

The vast majority, at 92 percent, of union members favored strike action over pay cuts imposed from June. Premium overtime and night work rates were cut by 3.5 percent in order to pay for a pay rise of two percent.

According to GMB's regional officer, Gary Pearce, the company was giving them a pay rise in the one hand and taking it away with the other.
He said the union is always open for discussions, but reestablishing the premium rates is the only solution to averting the strikes.
