Iberia and Samsung have come together to provide a smarter way for travelers to show their boarding passes at the airport.
That’s right; passengers can now simply flash their boarding passes via their Samsung Gear 2 and Gear Neo smart watches at the airport checkpoint.
By downloading the Gear 2 and Gear Neo-compatible Iberia app through the Samsung Galaxy Apps store, customers can install their boarding passes right onto their smart watches (for those who have already downloaded the Iberia app, you’ll need to de-install it and install it again for the function to work).
You can even send mobile boarding passes from your smartphone to your smart watch seamlessly.
“At iberia.com we are constantly incorporating new services and technologies. We believe that this innovative boarding pass will be very well received by our customers,” said Miguel Ángel Henales, Iberia’s director of Digital Business, via a press release.
“At Samsung we regard technology as an asset that allows people to live more comfortably and make their lives easier,” added Celestino García, a corporate vice-president of Samsung Electronics. “Wearable devices are the great novelty that enable the user to deal with the notifications received on the smart phone worn on the wrist. Thanks to the agreement with Iberia, passengers with a Gear 2 or Gear Neo smart watch will have their boarding pass available on a digital support, facilitating the logistics of travel.”
