Question UMs on ZED ticket on US Airways

I cannot find a definitive answer. I work for Southwest. My kids, ages 12 and 11 need to fly to Anchorage on Friday/Saturday. I was going to get them to PHX and put them on US Airways non stop to AnC at 6:15pm but cannot get a solid answer to if they can fly as UMs on a ZED ticket.
I see they can on a Buddy Pass but is that the same thing?
Same question for Delta? Are they eligible to fly and do we pay the UM fee?

Our airline rules for flying UM's on Delta and US Airways are about the same (but these are not ZED tickets). Under 5 years old cannot fly by themselves. 5-14 years can fly direct flights with parent/guardian taking them to gate and picking them up at the other end--Paperwork with names etc. will need to be filled out at the ticket counter. If you work at an airport go talk to the Delta and US Airways ticket counters for better answers. Have you asked your travel department??
