    Post ID travel on UA

    Hi,

A question for the good people of UA: Do you know WHEN UA decides WHERE employees of OAL will be able to list themselves and buy UA-ID tickets?

I work for SK and as of today we cannot buy ID tickets on UA. I assume it has something to do with the ongoing merger of UA and CO and fully appreciate that this takes time. I do travel to the US on ID tickets from time to time and I sorely miss the options the UA network gave us.

    Thanks,

    SK1228

    Hey SK1228,

UA has actually suspended their agreement with SK. Most likely this is due to SK no longer accepting paper tickets and no electronic agreement is in place yet (I'm not 100% sure that this is the reason, or even that SK isn't taking paper tickets, but the vast majority of issues like this are because of that)

    Thanks for the reply.

I had not considered that particular reason, but the more I think of it, the more I think that you are right.

The next questions then are: is UA going to e-tickets for ID travel as well? And if so, when will it happen?

    Again thanks,

    SK1228

I'd love to see that happen, but I think it may take a while, especially when the powers that be are so involved in ironing out the merger wrinkles. I'm sure that eventually paper tickets will die out, though!

I believe it was actually SK that suspended its agreements and not just with UA but with most US carriers, exactly because of interline electronic ticketing.

Yes this is the reason. (I hope all ZED will be electronic soon)...
