A little about me... My name is Mark and I lived in Kenya till I was in my teens. I view Kenya as my 'home' and as such am delighted to offer any assistance I can to fellow non-revers!! Whether you are going for safari, a laze on the beach or a flying business visit to Nairobi, let me know if there is anything YOU need to know.
My airline pedigree includes six years with AA three years with KQ and now three years with LX as Customer Service Manager at LHR.

Good evening, Mark.
I emailed Edward Torach (desken@africaonline.co.ke) on Sat to see if he could assist with Masai Mara safari. Remember, we're disembarking cruise in Mombasa and would really like to do a couple day safari.
I've not heard back from him; wondering if that was unusual, or if you another email address I might try.
Sure you don't want to jump back over to Kenya to "show us around"?

You don't know how happy I am to have a safari pro on board. Kenya and Tanzania are on the short list of places to travel. We just have to wait for the right time and price. The African continent is still somewhat expensive from the States. Hopefully within the next 2 to 3 years! My vote is sooner rather than later!!!

...Hi... it has to be said that email in Kenya is not quite as reliable as it is here (or there!). Sometimes the ISP's store up and then spit out all the correspondance in one go! If no joy by Monday, why not give him a call.

I've always thought it would be interesting to do a safari in Africa, unfortunately, I don't know many people from there and it just seems so far away and expensive, and dangerous!
Welcome to the forum. I much enjoyed reading what you posted about my poll. I too have had interesting interactions with delayed pax at the airport that on many occasions have tested my patience to no end! I used to work on the ramp at IAD. Customer service agents is truly an underappreciated job! I frequent LHR as one of my good friends is a United flight attendant based there. Perhaps I may bump into you one day. =-)

Yes, those of un in front-line pax service should be up for both the Victoria Cross for bravery and the Nobel Peace Prize for negotiation skills at times! :-)
I encourage you to think again about visiting Africa. It is a stunning continent which has the ability to change your view on life! Also, it's really not so far away. Fly via London or Amsterdam and the connections are pretty well worked out for stress-free travel. As for it being dangerous... please do not be overly influenced by negative media. Kenya is no more dangerous than any other country. There are no-go areas but which country does not have them. When you have the correct info of where to and not to go, you will be fine. When out of the cities you are in the safe hands of a rural pople who are incredibly appreciative of the tourist and the income they introduce to the economy (the government changed the way tourism money is utilised about 5 years ago... this forced money from tourism back into the local communities to fund schools, hostpitals, water-pumps etc.) Hope that balances the arguments a little.
