I'm trying to non-rev on Delta this week, ATL-DKR-CPT and CPT-DKR-JFK for the return. I've heard "interesting" stories regarding non-revs getting kicked off in DKR. Can anyone shed some light on their experiences with these flights and any tips? The four flights I'll be taking each have 80-120 seats open.
Additionally, can anyone offer some insight about airport taxes and vaccinations? I heard something about yellow fever...
Thanks.

You do not need shots for South Africa and the taxes were included in my ticket.
Have a great time! South Africa, and specifically Cape Town are one of my favorites!
I do not know about the DKR stop because I flew South African nonstop. Too bad they don't have that flight anymore.

I've done it CPT once and JNB twice.
My husband flies it alot and yes, NR's get tossed off in DKR with some frequency. usually S4 and they fly in "packs" of 3-6 family memebrs so they all get off together. It's a bit odd.
Shots--well, technically, you are required to have yellow fever if you get off in Senegal and enter SA but I've never had anyone ask me for mine and I've split legs thru DKR.
I will look at the listings--which dates, please? What's your status/priority/seniority etc--happy to keep an eye on # and pm info.
If the seats show that many you should have no trouble. They do leave empty seats for cargo weight/balance but not that many?
taxes for DKR are high--total for RT was around $140 for employees. I'll check my most recent and get back with exact. I've done both the ATL and JFK routes. Hope that helps!

You must be going out tomorrow from ATL? I just looked at # and that's the only flight with good numbers and they are excellent! Returns thru JFK next week look decent, too!
We had planned to fly this week also, but the ATL seats looked bad and I personally won't coach it for that long. I'd prefer the sharp-stick-in-the-eye treatment!! We ended up canceling anyway due to a recent family loss.
DKR is still a really third world airport but they are improving it rapidly--I truly hope you don't have to deplane at all (whci sometimes does happen with late arrival of the crossover flight--the layover is otherwise, i2 about 2 hrs in the tube...
PS--taxes/fees were approx $120-140 each RT.
