This route has been decreasing for years so I am not surprised.
Puzzling Title states that Alaska YVR - ANC ? ? ?
AND then relates to LAX YVR ending June of 2016 ? ? ?
YVR ANC would definitely be seasonal but why terminate in mid season ?
Possibly Horizon Air or West Coast Airlines taking it over in a more suitably sized (small) aircraft ?
Western Airlines was the USA inaugural carrier for this route (LAX YVR) circa late 60's operated with 720B equipment.
Even then it was barely a profitable route.
The route was replaced with SLC-YVR (737 service) when Western started it's SLC hub.
I would say that flying it more than once a day in a 70 passenger day would be overkill except in summer high tourist (cruise ship) season.
Which is strange that Alaska is terminating it at the start of that travel season ?
May have something to do with Delta enhancing the SEA hub.
There is an alternate way to go to LAX from YVR through SEA - Horizon Air and may have better competitive fares ?
