Has anybody tried to non-rev from Papeete to the U.S.?
Or can any employee of Air NZ, Air Tahiti, Air France (any other airlines do that run?) tell me what the chances are?
I will be continuing on to Europe, so both LAX and NYC are fine.
This will be next june, so obviously not looking for a load check. Just trying to find out if it's possible, or wether I need to buy a regular ticket.
Thanks

Hi; i went to Papeete last june; was wonderfull; There are dayly flights from ppt to jfk think is better than going to lax where there always a lot of waiting list; high risk to remain on ground. try to look for better ways on amadeus.net
ciao

NZ recently announced they are dropping their PPT-LAX flights early next year, so you will have no option using them in June. AF and TN will be about your only bets to get from PPT to Nth America.

My wife did it two years ago in june on AF, no problems.
You can also fly from PPT to HNL.

HNL is Honolulu, also known as a non-rev black hole. http://www.nonrev.net/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif
Keep'em flying

There's also a LAN link from PPT via Easter Island to SCL, but this route is not suggested for non-revving.

Thanks guys for all the replies (but what took you so long? http://www.nonrev.net/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif )
The LAN option might work to Easter Island, but I understand the flights are packed from there to SCL, and I really wouldn't want to be stranded in either place.
I had my eyes on ANZ, too bad they don't want to play anymore.
And my company does not have an interline agreement with Air Tahiti Nui.
So with only a single option a day (AF), I will have to play it safe and spend the cash and a guaranteed coach seat.

Ia Orana from Tahiti !
Indeed you will have the choice between Air France and Air Tahiti Nui to LAX and Hawaiian Air to HNL.
In your case Air France will be your only choice. We operate 4 flights a week departing LAX on Thurs/Fri/Sat/Sun at 22h05 and arriving in PPT at 04h30. The flights to LAX from PPT are departing every Fri/Sat/Sun/Mon.
You should be fine with nonrev tickets as June is not a vacation period in Tahiti.
Should you need loads please do not hesitate to ask.

Hrmm I would take the most options at the time first to mind would be PPT-HNL and then take whatever is open from HNL to mainland and you can connect with LH out of most US cities.

I nonrevd on Air Tahiti Nui in March/April. We flew LAX-PPT and it was great. We got to the ticket counter and they printed off the boarding pass right then and there.
The staff said that the best times are March/April and again in October. If you fly Mon-TH of the week you'll be great. Fri-Sat-Sun... don't think about it. The staff said that even in summer time if you go midweek you should be ok. Great experience!

We did an ID 90 in March...JFK/PPT/LAX and no problems...middle of the week.
