I'm a newbie trying to nonrev NRT-BKK in late February/return early March. I will probably either be on NW or a ZED fare on Thai Airways (getting both just in case). Does anybody have advice or tips for me? I will be flying on weekdays (Tuesday/Wednesday), but some of the postings here about BKK loads make me worried I won't be able to go at all! I have no problem with sitting in airports or waiting a couple days to get on a flight.
I can also adjust my dates if the chance of getting on flights is easier--I can go as late as March 30.
Any advice is greatly appreciated!

I know what you mean. I'm trying to non-rev to BKK from NRT. The loads on NW look bad, so I think I'll opt for Thai. I wish there was someone that worked those routes that could give us a clearer picture on the no-show factor for that time of year.

Why limit yourself to just a TG ZED? If your carrier has staff agreements with SQ NH and UA get a combined ZED to cover all 4 carriers. Being able to use all 4 opens up many more flight options for you & gives yourself every chance of getting on a flight.
Even if you have to buy a seperate IDxx for some of those carriers, you can always cash them in (to help pay off the credit card bill on return to home !) if not used.
At least it's not Golden Week when you're trying to go! http://www.nonrev.net/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Thanks for the advice! I have never done anything other than a service fee before, so I will have to look into a combined ZED fare. That really helps though!
