ANZ to Start Flying to...Antarctica?

Air New Zealand is planning to operate a demonstration flight to the Pegasus ice runway near the McMurdo Station in Antarctica on October 5. ANZ will operate a Boeing 767-300 to the ice runway. If feasible, the airline will operate charter flights to the southern continent.:huh:

Charter flights... as in, not available for nonrevs. Disappointing :(

Maybe sometime in my lifetime I'll be able to fly to Antarctica. At one point I considered a 6-month job with Raytheon just so I could spend time there.
