HND Honored With 5 Star Rating

Haneda International Airport in Tokyo has been awarded the top, 5-Star Airport quality ranking for 2014 by Skytrax, the air transport rating organisation. The 5-Star Airport rating recognises the highest standards of Product and Service delivery across the many different assessment categories in the Airport environment, and recognizes airports which are at the forefront in terms of service quality and consistency, and in many instances for product and service innovation in the airport conditions. Haneda International Airport is the only Japanese airport to achieve this top level, 5-Star Airport rating.

Edward Plaisted, CEO of Skytrax said: "Haneda International Airport has been awarded this 5-Star Airport rating due to the fact that the airport meets so many 5-Star targets in terms of what an airport should do to look after and satisfy customers. It delivers very consistent standards of service efficiency and consistency, it is kept meticulously clean and makes the process for both departing and arriving passengers as simple as possible. The domestic Terminals (T1 and T2) set Best Practice levels for the quality of shopping and food and beverage outlets located landside, and the recently extended International Terminal will be further improved later in 2014 with the opening of a Terminal Hotel and more shopping and food and beverage choices."

Haneda Airport is split in operational terms, with Japan Airport Terminal Co running the Domestic Terminals 1 & 2, and Tokyo International Air Terminal Corporation operating the International Terminal. The airport is becoming increasingly popular with customers due to it's close proximity to downtown Tokyo. Skytrax completed quality audit checks of Haneda International Airport during 2014, examining in detail all product and service delivery areas across terminal operational features.
