The first time my family and I non-rev was from MCO-SJU. We went during spring break and it was such an exciting experience. We did not make the first flight out of MCO, but we were lucky enough to make the 2nd and in first class. My kids thought this was the coolest thing since sliced bread. Coming home we ran into a little snag. We were coming home on a Monday figuring we would be not be in the way of cruise ship people. Well on Sunday a large Carnival ship was delayed into port 6 hours and all the passengers that were due to leave on Sunday were now leaving on Monday. Needless to say the flights were tight. Forget Orlando...so we tried Ft. Lauderdale and Tampa. We did get into Mia and rented a car home. It was a fun experience and the employees at American Airlines were TERRIFIC! So even a party of 5 can non-rev as long as you do a little planning and a lot of praying.

Glad that worked out for you. It took a lot of "guts" to non-rev over spring break to SJU, let alone with a party of 5. Yes I have found that the employees of AA have been extremely helpful to non-revs traveling in the caribbean.
