This morning I tried to post a new article. I made 3 attempts to post and the forum errored out every time. Every time it did, I refreshed and checked to see if it had indeed gone thru, it had not. I then became frustrated and left.
Upon my return I found that I then had 3 identical posts with attachments that will not open. I tried to both edit and delete the attachment only to receive an error message indicating that my login could not be authenticated and to try again later. I tried to delete the entire post only to get the same thing. I tried deleting the text, leaving only a smiley and that worked. Again I tried deleting the entire post only to get the same error message.
I've tried logging out and logging back in again. I've checked my settings and permissions all to no avail.
What's up?!?!?! This is a pain in the 'you-know-what'!

504 error, and I even tried the secret password.
Aviation Quiz-12 is not responding, I've lost control.

Well, the problem seems to be with those particular posts that I had trouble with this morning. I've just sucessfully deleted an older post from the Chicago thread as an experiment. I still can't do anything with those 3 troublesome posts.

Randy I've been trying to post in Aviation quiz for 15 minutes, nothing, I give up.

You posted 4 times, each with a bad attachment. http://www.nonrev.net/infopop/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

Thanks for the heads up Scooby, four identical posts....Atlanta I think we have a problem! Think we're going have to contact the control tower. http://www.nonrev.net/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Hmmm, attachments? Is that the common theme here. When I first attempted to upload an attachment this morning I noticed that the paperclip was gone from the tool bar on the posting popup. There's now an "add attachment?" link below the text box. I don't think it was like that the last time I 'attached' http://www.nonrev.net/infopop/emotic...n_confused.gif
I still can't delete my original postings...

Well here we go again:
"Error:

I was attempting to try something new and it didn't work or the forum doesn't have the capability I was hoping for. So I tried to delete my "test" and got the above message.

Hi,
Sorry for the inconvenience and the frustrations. Mig found and sent me some instructions and I have changed the settings for attachments and hope all is well now. If not, post here again. I should get an e-mail notification since I have now participated in this thread.
Apologies too for my absence. I've been working on a rental property that the renter left in a very nasty state. I'm getting out of that business and preparing the home for sale. As soon as that's done, I'll be investing my time in this "virtual real estate". The Nonrev Network will get a redesign with some new features. When I'm ready to get started, I'll post a message asking for feedback/suggestions.

Ok. I went and tried to post a test message in the forum with an attachment and received:
Your FTP login failed. Please check your username and password. Detail: 530 Login incorrect.
I have opened a support ticket with Infopop and will post the result here as soon as I hear from them.

Here is infopops response:

Greetings Chris Bagley,
It appears that your evefiles directory somehow got deleted...?
I have recreated the directory and verified that ftp access to evefiles has been restored.
Please confirm that everything is working properly now.
To further understand how this may have happened, are you aware of any way the directory may have been deleted? If you are not aware of how this directory might have been deleted, could you please answer: When was the last known time an attachment was successfully posted to your site? When was the first known time that posting an attachment failed?
Please let us know how we might further assist you, or if we may close this ticket.
Regards,

Adaptation of Poe's classic "the Raven"
Lines found in the wastebasket of a vacant office
Abort, Retry, Ignore
Once upon a midnight dreary, fingers cramped and vision bleary,
System manuals piled high and wasted paper on the floor,
Longing for the warmth of bed sheets, still I sat there doing spreadsheets.
Having reached the bottom line I took a floppy from the drawer,
I then invoked the SAVE command and waited for the disk to store,
Only this and nothing more.
Deep into the monitor peeking, long I sat there wond'ring, fearing,
Doubting, while the disk kept churning, turning yet to churn some more.
But the silence was unbroken, and the stillness gave no token.
"Save!" I said, "You cursed machine! Save my data from before!"
One thing did the phosphors answer, only this and nothing more,
Just, "Abort, Retry, Ignore?"
Was this some occult illusion, some maniacal
intrustion?
These were choices undesired, ones I'd never faced before.
Carefully I weighed the choices, as the disk made impish noises.
The cursor flashed, insistent, waiting, baiting me to type some more.
Clearly I must press a key, choosing one and nothing more,
From "Abort, Retry, Ignore?"
With fingers pale and trembling, slowly toward the keyboard bending,
Longing for a happy ending, hoping all would be restored,
Praying for some guarantee, timidly, I pressed a key.
But on the screen there still persisted words appearing as before.
Ghastly grim they blinked and taunted, haunted, as my patience wore,
Saying "Abort, Retry, Ignore?"
I tried to catch the chips off guard, and pressed again, but twice as hard.
I pleaded with the cursed machine: I begged and cried and then I swore.
Now in mighty desperation, trying random combinations,
Still there came the incantation, just as senseless as before.
Cursor blinking, angrily, winking, blinking nonsense as before.
Reading, "Abort, Retry, Ignore?"
There I sat, distraught, exhausted, by my own machine accosted.
Getting up I turned away and paced across the office floor.
And then I saw a dreadful sight: a lightning bolt cut through the night.
A gasp of horror overtook me, shook me to my very core.
The lightning zapped my previous data, lost and gone forevermore.
Not even, "Abort, Retry, Ignore?"
To this day I do not know, the place to which lost data go.
What demonic nether world us wrought where lost data will be stored,
Beyond the reach of mortal souls, beyond the ether, into black holes?
But sure as there's C, Pascal, Lotus, Ashton-Tate and more,
You will one day be left to wander, lost on some Plutonian shore,
Your choice: Abort, Retry, Ignore"
