Hey people, can anyone recommend non rev discount codes or sites to book cruises to Alaska? I'm looking at departing SEA or LAX in September or October (but I think October they don't run...).
I searched around online and in other posts but there seems to be hundreds of non rev cruise sites, so wondering if people have used one or have one they recommend.
I am looking to Alasaka cruise for May09 as well.
My colleague went to Alasaka last August and he booked through www.perx.com. Pretty good price.
I read a book talking about discount cruise is vacationstogo.com. They do offer very good price for public, and I find out they also offer interline discount.
however, need more comment on their services.
As far to my reseach, Alasaka cruise running from early May till early Sep. Oct, probably too cold.
October is cooler, but there are some killer deals I've seen on Dargal.com for interliners during that time. Mainly repositioning cruises from Alaska back down the West Coast. There's not going to be a whole lot of difference weather wise between September and October in Southeast Alaska. Typically anytime August or later is pretty much the rainy season. If possible, May is the best time to go. Before school lets out and the flight loads are low, and the weather is usually a lot nicer. Good luck.
Perx.com and Dargal.com, are awsome! i use them all the time they have awsome hotels, car rentals, resorts and cruises for like half the price. they are all for employees. i got a carebeen cruise on there for 212$ for 5 days.... def check it out.

Can't really make May... going somewhere end of this month, then country music festival + paris airshow in June, then cruise in Sept/Oct
I would gamble with booking a late Sept cruise closer to August--deals galore if you just wait. There are so many cruise lines that one will have a great price towards the end of the season. Just my opinion, but I've been watching interline sites for sooo long. Check the booking fees, tho...
Just want to know more about booking fee. What's what experience if I book through perix or dargal? I am looking for a 7 days cruise from YVR or SEA in May. When is the best time to book? I can see the price is 549 for OUT, definetly want a window to have sunshine. Balcony is the best, depends on the price. Which cruise line you recommend? I'm eyeing on NCL, any other recommendations? or any ship recommended?
What should I expect to see in Alasaka? and the port that visited? Any experience is great.

I'd take a look at all the sites and call once for advice about timing. You cna sign up for all of their specials and get email flashes with deals every few days. dargal is canadian, perx and interline are texas, if time zone is an issue for contact
interlineone.com is a new one I've just seen recently wiht good booking engine but no experience with agents
I personally would not book anything too far in advance unless you have a certain cabin request. so many of these ships have balconies now. I just booked a short family cruise for 10 days off--many of the well-priced cabins were gone, but I had a bunch of gift certificates to use up. personal recommendations would depend on your age group--particularly Alaska. I think rankings are:
carnival
ncl
rccl
hal/princess
way up from there--azamara, seaborne, luxury lines, etc
However--each line has premium ships that may beat the pants off another line of a higher ranking.
I haven't broken down to want to cruise Alaska yet--just a warm-weather-ship-kinda-chick. But I have gold status on NCL from more than 12 cruises.

The Alaska cruises that are out now are still for early in the season. You might want to wait a bit before you book something in September to get the best rates. Be prepared to go early September, though, as they don't go beyond the middle of the month. I have cruised with Princess, Royal Caribbean and Holland America. Each had something different to offer so you first need to decide what you are looking for in the ship since all of the lines stop in the same towns. There are so many shore excursions in Alaska that I wouldn't even know where to begin! Stop at a travel agency and pick up a brochure or two. There are tons of good ideas in those books plus they will help you visualize the ships a little better.
Meshpo, I have done an Alaska cruise in early June and I do want to warn you that it is still pretty chilly up there at that time of the year. Bring you warm coat and gloves! Layers are the key there as some areas will be warmer than others. Skagway, for example, is cooler than Ketchikan and you will want those warm clothes when the ship goes to the glaciers.
I have used Perx and Dargal to book my trips in the past. Dargal charges a booking fee but they do an excellent job of making sure you have everything you need and they have helped me make special arrangements for my anniversary, etc.
The Last Great Frontier is an amazing place and one you will never forget!

We took the last Southbound cruise on Princess Sept 15 '08. It was wonderfull, however a bit chilly and somewhat rainy. Neither bothered us as we are from the Pacific Northwest, and you can always find warm spots to hang out onboard the ship. Not that I am a shopping nut, but the deals in the ports were awesome. Even the ships crew were getting off the ship and shopping in mass, plus all of the attactions and tours were almost totally empty being the end of the season.
We picked up the cruise for approx $550 which included tax/fuel surcharge.
Was an awesome experience, even though I have been to several cities in SE Alaska.
I am checking for Round Trip Cruise or One Way Trip. Just wonder if it is easy to get on AS on ID tickets from SEA to ANC or vice versa in May. There are like 10 flights daily between them, and what is the alternative route to get away from ANC? From my horrible experience on LAX to LAS, even with 20 flights daily, they can be full.
I am targeting for like $500-700US /person, is it possible to get a Balcony? Otherwise Window cabin is still work. What is the lowest price should I expect? Any experience can share will be good.
