travelnet - the relationship between av/au and airport standby list
Greetings,
New nonrev here. In travelnet, how accurate are the Av numbers that are shown and how do those relate to the numbers shown in the airport standby list? Mainly since I have seen where those numbers don't match up.
Also, is this a fairly decent forum or are there more popular ones that lots of people use? I am excited by the prospect of jetting around the world for (almost) free and would love to pick the brain of those who know much more than I.
Thanks,
Beardy
Travelnet relationship between AV/Au and ASL (Airport Standby List)
Hey beardy,
Welcome to the awesome world of non-reving! Travelnet is very accurate in terms of numbers of seats available on a particular flight. Travelnet pulls these numbers directly from DLTerm (the computer system used for booking flights and working flights at the airport). The Airport Standby List shows all revenue and nonrevenue passengers who have checked in for the flight and are awaiting a seat or an upgrade, as well as those passengers who have been cleared and assigned a seat. The order of the Airport Standby List is subject to change as other passengers check in. Seats Remaining indicates the number of unassigned seats on the flight. This count will differ from the Av/Au inventory counts on the Flight Availability & Listings screen. Hope this helps answer your question!
