Delta Adds New and Seasonal Routes to Hawaii

DELTA Airlines starting 12/19/15 is adding with 2 new routes utilizing a 757-200 aircraft.


PDX - HNL seasonal 12/19/15- 1/10/16 1x daily
FLT#2006 PDX 4:45pm – 9:05pm HNL :( (Likely Oversold)
FLT#2006 HNL 10:35pm – 6:20am+1 PDX

SEA - KOA 1x daily *** NEW***
FLT#2421 SEA 6:20pm – 10:15pm KOA
FLT#2466 KOA 11:30pm – 7:00am+1 SEA

I wouldn't necessarily be too worried about PDX-HNL being too oversold based on schedule alone. PDX isn't a hub, even if they do get quite a few flights on DL, so there aren't a ton of connections needed here. Most leisure travelers (which isn't exactly uncommon in HNL) want to arrive earlier in the day so they get more time on the beach, rather than immediately going to the hotel. Kind of feels like a waste of a purchased hotel night if you arrive right around bed time!
