My husband(Delta, ret.) and I are going on a train trip from Beijing to Moscow...and are planning to non rev from Moscow on the DL flight. Any one taken this flight as a non rev?..so far the flight looks good, but it is not until August 1. We have until 7 August until our visas expire and I guess we will plan some alternatives if it looks like we can't get on...would love to hear anyone's experiences...Thanks, Joyce SFO.

Hi Joyce,
I've not been to Russia but Randy our Nonrev Correspondent for Chicago submitted a great article about his trip that you will probably want to check out. Go to http://www.nonrev.net/articles/russia/index.htm

We have been to Beijing and Moscow but did not travel between the two. Flew AC to China and LH to Russia. We did take the overnight train from Moscow to St. Petersburg, though.
If you do end up taking the train, as mentioned, write us a trip report, I'd love to hear about it. If you need any info on either city just ask and I will be happy to assist if I can.

Thanks all, We are flying on China Air into beijing, on a real tix...and for sure we are taking the train, it's a restored vintage Orient express, goes through Mongolia, Siberia and ends up in Moscow...We are hoping to non rev from Moscow..but it is looking bad, bad, bad...But with years of non-reving I do know that we only need 2 seats anywhere, and I am hopeful...Our big problem in Russia is overstaying our visa,so we will be looking at either taking the train outa there or buying a tix anywhere we can standby for DL.
Thanks again for your help.
Joyce...happy to send a report when we return...
