Hi to "Fly without reservation" and everyone else on the forum,
This is my first real post and am hoping for lots of help on planning. (My first post was very "terse" because I had been having GREAT difficulty getting any message to post and I was tired of typing the same stuff over and over... )
SO - here's my story. My husband (retired AA) and I will be traveling DFW-ZRH the first week of July and plan to stay about 7 days. All I know is I want to "ride trains and see mountains." Other than that, we don't know much about where to go or what to do. We are reasonably healthy for retirees, but not interested in snow sports, extreme or strenuous hikes, or nightlife - more into historical sites, shopping, etc. On flat land we could probably walk people half our age right into the ground! I have read lots about Zermatt and the Glacier Express, but I am open to any and all "don't miss" sightseeing. I have been thinking about going from Zurich to St. Moritz by train, then to Zermatt, then to Montreux, and end in Geneva. What do you recommend?

Don't know if you're aware but the Montreux Jazz Festival takes place July 1-16, hopefully that's a good thing. http://www.nonrev.net/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Mig is right!! The Jazz festival is our pride and joy here. I live about 20 mins from Montreux and it is a great city to see. To/From Montreux to Lucern there is a good scenic train called the Golden Pass. Lucern is also a great city to see. From Montreux you can get to Zermatt pretty easily. If you haven't already check the swiss rail system website in english at <a href="http://www.rail.ch" target="_blank">http://www.rail.ch</A>.
I will try to post another update here with more things to do and see, but I don't have time right now.
