411 on Hotels in Spain - Early Nov.

I'll be in BCN and MAD in early Nov. for a few days before heading to LIS for a transatlantic cruise.

Any suggestions on hotels? Will have 2 nights in each city.

BTW, I'm not interested in roughing it (slow room service in a 1* property, LOL!).

I always stay at Aparthotel Muralto. Near everything and transportation is easy. I always use the bus in that area. Also the Hostal Americano, unexpensive, good neighborhood and walking distance to Puerta del Sol and Museo del Prado.

In Barcelona, I always stay Aparthotel Silber, next to the Fontana metro. Two stops away from La Rambla. Very secure.
