My wife and I are planning a cruise from Rome end of September. We were hoping to use Delta's Global Fare, standby nonrev for other airline employees. My question is where would a Global Fare passenger rank in the standby list? Above or below buddy pass standbyes? I know all Delta employees and their families would rank higher than us, my wife is retired from Airtran. Since the Global Fare is $200 I was hoping it might put us above somebody. Also, has anyone heard about an embargo on nonrevs to Europe?

The global fare would put you at the bottom of our standby list along with the buddy pass riders. The good news is that end of September is a great time to go. If you can aim for a Tuesday or Wednesday departing the USA it should be good. Just call DL res at 800.241.4141 and they can check loads for you. Make sure you dress for business class and be sure to make sure you are put on the Business Class list at checkin. It should happen automatically, but ask to make sure.
You can see the following link about non-reving on DL: <a href="http://www.deltadt.com/dlnonrev/TravelGuide.htm" target="_blank">http://www.deltadt.com/dlnonrev/TravelGuide.htm</A>
Happy travels!
