hi all:
18 Sep - JFK/CDG via Air France
27 Sep - CDG/JFK via Air France
* begin question *
With Air France's numerous daily flights for this route; what if any carrier would any of you recommend for back-up tickets?
* end question *
thanks,

I take this route quite often it is easy to get boarded even if the flights are overbooked there are a lot no show.
If you can get a ZED ticket on AA it is a possible back up however their flights tend to be full.
I do not know if TN still fly this route.
Of course there is also DL but if it is an ID90 it will be costly due to the YQ added.
If you are on the west coast remember that AF fly SEA/CDG, and of course they have some flights from LAX as well as TN.
Good luck.

Z:
Thank-you. It appears my JFK/CDG/JFK ZED pass provides me four chances with AF on 20080918 and also one chance with AA. Our employee travel manager at PDX says I simply carry the passes over to AA and the carrier will honor the fare subject to seat availability. If true: great.
My sincere thanks for your reply.

Z wrote: "Of course there is also DL but if it is an ID90 it will be costly due to the YQ added" and I read something similar in the NA forum. I'm confused, since my carrier (NW) has an OA agreement w. Delta, and I've often bought ZED tickets for Delta (to do JFK-NCE and back) from NW, and never had any trouble using them on Delta.
On a CDG-related note: Since my first, horrible experience non-reving back to US out of CDG, we have avoided CDG like the plague. Searh the forum for CDG. I think mhy post was about March 2005, also flywithoutreservations has insights. Good luck!
