I am a DL retiree and "out of the loop".....my sisters (party of 4) will be using my buddy passes to Europe. They will be trying to depart out of Paris in October. If they do not make it out on their standby flight does Air France agents automatically rebook to standby for the next flight? How about rebooking for the next day if they don't get out on the 27th? Mahalo for your help.

The AF agents rebooked by nondependent children and changed the routing to get them back to ATL, but the DL agents at the end of the ctr had to reissue the tickets. This was two years ago - I guess it is similar now. btw what hotel near HNL would you recommend for an overnighter 4 ppl. Flying HA to LIN the next am.

Lovetofly:
I asked that question of the AF Standby Desk just this morning. The agent explained that:
a. staff are trained to relist standby travelers
b. always check & make sure it happens
That is also my experience. For domestic travel, I return to the counter and confirm my listing was moved to the next flight. About two thirds of the time it was and the rest--well.
Happy trails,
David
