Hello everyone--time to go!!
Spouse is working EDI and I've been invited. I know the GB head tax is hefty but it's a trip!! Any recommendations for anything--sights, food, etc? Just 48 hours and hotel is Novotel. Please feel free to share...Thanks!

Don't know if this will be of any help, but I was in Edinburgh around 1991 when my ship pulled into KIRCALDY. I took a train into Edinburgh. That's a long time ago. Naturally, you want to visit Edinburgh Castle. That's a MUST DO. They have a couple of neat looking pubs and restaurants as you walk up to the castle on some road. You can have your family name looked up on some road kiosk if you think your ancestors came from Scotland. In Edinburgh, you can buy excellent WOOL. Don't remember the exact location in Edinburgh, but WOOL is big there, for sweaters, scarves. You can purchase what you like and they can actually ship it to you back to the states. SEAN CONNERY was born there. He's from Edinburgh. Pronounced EDIN BORO Not pronounced as PITTSBURGH. There was a famous street, of which I cannot remember the name no more, but they had alot of pubs and, restaurants. It's famous in Edinburgh like equivelant to Crescent Street in Montreal. That is it.

his flight was canceled late the night prior due to pending monster snowstorm. I got back to CVG just in time before all the flights fell apart and he made it back the next eve via jumpseat.
