Hello all,
I work for TAP Portugal and sometimes I find difficult to know what to expect (regarding onboard service) when we, as nonrev, travel economy on other companies.
So, how about to write what our company offers in economy on their flights? I'll start:
TAP PORTUGAL
(Economy)
Domestic [Lisbon, Oporto and Faro): only drinks, no meal service.
Domestic [Açores and Madeira]: Açores: hot sandwich + drinks. Madeira: cold sandwich + drinks.
Europe: Cold sandwich + drinks (Spain); hot sandwich + drinks (european flights less than 3h). Flights more than 3h: hot meal + drinks.
Intercontinental:
Flights less than 4h: hot meal (appetizer + main course + dessert) + drinks.
More than 4h: hot meal + (appetizer + main course + dessert) + light refreshment + drinks.
An example of this:
Appetizer:
Lettuce, Salami, Carrot and Tomato salad
Main Course:
Grilled Garlic Chicken
White Rice
or
Ricotta and Spinach Cannelloni
Chicken Cannelloni
Dessert:
Baba de Moça (traditional brazilian dessert)
Light refreshment:
Parma Ham and Cheese Sandwich
Cassava Cake
Coffee/Tea
Note: All drinks are free on TAP Portugal flights.

Wow, nice service. Alaska offers food for purchase on flights over 3.5 hours during meal times at $5 each. We do not stock enough for every seat on the plane (there simply isn't room and it cuts down on waste) so be prepared! The menu will vary slightly depending on where you are flying. The food is pretty good but there isn't a selection - one meal north/east and a different meal south/west. Shorter flights are beverage only.

Thank you for that information, Donna.
What about AA, US, CO, UA, LH, LX, NW, LX etc, etc...??
Please share with us. It would be very nice for all of us to know what to expect on flights operated by 'our' companies.

Well, at least Dl doesn't charge for food. And, some FA's will NOT charge employees for drinks!
