I nonrev a lot and always get the dreaded "SSSS" when I take US. Do you know why this is? I am not implying that I am above getting extra searches, I just know that all the other carriers I use will always exempt airline employees.

Do you smile going through security? That's what gets 'em - you see, anyone who's happy at the airport *MUST* be some kind of anomaly... http://www.nonrev.net/forums/style_e...DIR#>/wink.gif

As an airline employee, you're supposed to be exempted. I got the SSSS the other week on NW, and they couldn't figure out how to exempt me. I didn't truely care too much, but didn't like it. However, some people absolutely must be exempted, so not knowing how is no excuse.

Did you see the TSA is going to do gate searches again? That will get ugly!
I can see it now:
TSA-"Did you buy that water after security or bring it through the checkpoint?"
Passenger- "Hmmm?"
TSA- "Time to dump the terminal!"
Vulindlela, if you really want to sail through security. All you need do, is provide an iris and fingerprint scan and pay an annual fee of $100, plus a $28 TSA fee, and you'll breeze right through. http://www.nonrev.net/forums/style_e...DIR#>/wink.gif
Fly through Airport Security

Don't be so sure. Security directives aren't as black and white as to state that airline employees are ALWAY exempt. They are also constantly changing and only a very few indidivuals at each airline are priivy to the specifics.
I thought those directives only applied to uniformed employees who are working, not commuting or traveling on OAL (even on company business).
The FlyClear is not set up in yet in the Delta terminals that effect most pax--like JFK, LGA , EWR and ATL.
It will be a treat for me, since I can't clear with spouse. Just a few mins extra in CVG is not worth the $$--
YET...Guess I have to wait!!
Huh? I always get the "SSS" when non-reving on AA. Is it something I said? http://www.nonrev.net/forums/style_e...IR#>/smile.gif
They finally got Clear lanes in JFK 2 and 3, Delta LGA--and coming soon to ATL!!
I plan to join, get my eyes scanned and whatever it takes to
"fly clear"
PS--don't expect every airport to let you thru while non-reving out of uniform and/or commuting:
both ATL and CVG have had TSA follow some vacationing employees thru the "wrong" lanes recently--2 employees were suspended for abusing the security rules.
Well I for one am drawing the line with the "backscatter", the x-ray machine -scanner that sees through clothes. I don't believe for one minute that all x-rays are destroyed immediately. Just waiting for the first pictures of Angelina or some super model to be posted on the internet.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (vulindlela @ Jun 30 2008, 01:14 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div>Amazing coincidence, the only time I took US I also got it and I never got it so far on other airlines.Quote:

I have had it a couple of times on Southwest as a nonrev and every time that I have flown Delta.
