Hello everyone!
I'm planning my first non-rev trip from LHR-SYD via BKK and I'm a bit confused (and nervous!). Can anyone tell me what to do when I arrive in Bangkok? What will happen to my checked luggage? Do I have to reclaim and then check it back in? There's only a couple of hours between landing and departure, isn't this going to be cutting it a bit fine?
Also, if availability is only showing 8 or 9 seats 24 hours prior to departure is this a bit risky?
Any advice anybody can give a first-timer would be greatly received! Thanks

I have to tell you that you have chosen one of the worst routes for non reving... the planes are always full and not many flights... but dont worry... staff in London know very well how to make it easy.
Good luck and tell the story when you are back...
By the way... if you fly with a one world alliance airline, probably BA or QF, ask them for the one world standby priority when you check-in, as you are a JL employee. It always helps getting you faster on a plane!
and remember to be patient.

Advice?
You can never have enough back ups !
JL fly to SYD, ensure you have something with your own carrier.

Hi NP, ItalGreco and Spainflyer are right on target, you always want to have plenty of backups, expecially when flying into BKK, a infamous non-rev black hole.
I would only add that you might want to read How to nonrev and other interline adventures, the article will give you a good overview on planning and how things work.
Good luck and do let us know what happened, I always worry. http://www.nonrev.net/forums/style_e...DIR#>/wink.gif
