Southwest Automated
Does anybody know why Southwest got rid of their Automated Non-Rev listing line?
I don't know about others, but I hate bugging agents for loads. Mostly if I want to look at quite a few different options to non-rev. I feel like I am being a huge bother. As you all know, this is something we try to not do when we non-rev.
The new way is you call and you wait on hold to speak to an agent. I am currently typing and passing the 30 minute mark at holding. While I am patient...I just wonder why they got rid of it.
A couple of my coworkers have asked what happened to the automated number and the res agents say they didn't know they had one.

Possibly cause it was terrible? I don't know I never like it... whenever I tried it always got what I was saying wrong. "San Antonio" ... "so you want to go to San Francisco"... no. I even tried putting on my BEST texan and then nondescript American accent and it still picked up i was foreign.
From what I can tell they always answer "Southwest nonrev" so it either gets routed to someone direct, or is a special line. I did a day in the field in that department, they are really helpful nothing seems to bother them

They retired it when nonrev moved to eTickets. It wasn't worth the cost to convert the VRU. The usage had dropped significantly after they created the online listing tool for employees ( and I think retirees).
