Planning on going to Florida from Brussels, end of March

I am hoping to visit Florida for my spring break and the plan is to start off in Orlando and then head south to the Keys.

Since there is no direct flight from Brussels to Florida, the idea would be to fly from BRU to somewhere on the US East Coast (EWR, JFK, IAD, PHL, YUL) and then connect to MCO.

I've been surprised about the number of daily fllights from either of these airports to MCO, so logically, demand is high, so my question would be, where do I have the best chances? Also, how are loads on flights to MCO during the end of March in general? Bussier in weekends, I'd imagine, given the leisure aspect of the destination?

For the return flight there's less of a problem, as I'll be taking a LH flight from MIA to either FRA, MUC or DUS.

Well, as my holidays near, I've been looking around a bit in order to make an educated decision on which route to best choose from and it seems getting from Brussels to one of the main hubs on the US East coast isn't going to be much of a problem, but thereafter! Over the weekend I've been doing some random load checking between several East coast hubs to MCO, PBI, TPA yet it seems all of the flights I could see were nearly full, so the most difficult part will definitely be getting through to MCO, PBI, or TPA.

I am actually quite stunned by the fact almost every flight I've checked from EWR, IAD etc is as good as sold out, often with tens of stby pax in waiting already: is this normal, or have I just picked an awfully bad timing?

Oh, and is it even sane as a non-rev to try to get to one of the secondary Floridian cities on a Saturday or a Sunday, or should I just forget about it and go non-stop to MIA from Europe? I'd hate it to be stuck in NY or similar for several days in a row, despite the huge amount of flights to Florida.

Go to jfk jfk to mco tues weds best. dont try sunday or friday. Northeast schools on break two middle weeks april. Fri Sat Sun Mon Full loads DL UA oversell by 10%. Not sure how good the opportunity to Fly MCO-EYW Try JFK TPA, TPA-EYW via Capeair (Cessna 9 seaters) Stay away from ATL You might alternatively go AMS-DTW-MCO more widebodies. Good luck!

We don't have ZED on DL, so I was hoping to use any STAR alliance airline possible (CO, UA, or even US), but since I'll be coming over -so I hope- on the last Saturday of the month, I think I'll just use VS through MAN; they have 2 daily flights on Saturdays with 744 and flyzed shows both of them as green.

BTW, Is there anybody around on this forum who can do loadchecks on Virgin Atlantic?

MCO is known for having very high loads, not necesarily a money making destination for airlines but one that can fill al plane very easily with low yealding passengers. As for LH this route apparently had been quote the success story, the route started from a 333 and now it is a 744. MIA for LH is also known for having very high LF, so I would not recommend that routing. Not sure if you guys can get ZED's on BA but what about BRU-LGW-TPA and then you can drive down from TPA?

I got through with LH for a load check and it seems we are lucky! Their flights to MCO over the last weekend of the month have been switched from A330 to 747 only last week due to massive overbooking, meaning that on Saturday it is now showing about 30 seats open or so, on sunday even 110 open seats, so I think we'll use 'big brother' via FRA with the added benefit of flying C class!
