Interesting NRSA experience

Ok, this happened back in 1996, but it was bizarre so I thought I would share.

I was sitting in first class on board an America West 757. It was flight 700 from BOS to LAS.
The F/A was coming around with the cabin service and asked what I would like to drink.
I ordered my usual gin and tonic.
At this point the F/A kneels down beside my seat and quietly tells me that she is sick and tired of nonrevs coming on board like they own the place and eating/drinking the plane out of house and home.
She tells me that she will get my my drink but that is it. Nothing more after that.
I was just in shock and I was thinking to myself, "Miss, I don't know what he did to you, but I am not that guy"
I always behave like an angel when I nonrev. I would never jeopardize this great benefit.
I finished my drink and went to sleep.

Anyone else have any crazy stories??

Haha that's pretty amusing, never had anything like that happen.

Well aside from a few months ago when I was offered a few bottles of wine to take home and later told "I was not who she thought I was and I should have said something"... Sorry miss, not sure who you thought I was ?

doubt that would ever happen to me--I think the FA's have a pool to see how much champagne I'll drink!
BTW I would have reported her if it happened on DL metal. Unaccaptable

Even if it wasn't my own metal I would have reported it... I nearly reported a QF phone operator once for being rude.

Uh...wow. that is kinda crazy. Maybe she just wanted your body. You know. Say something off the wall and crazy so that you can get the juices flowing with vigor, makes for wild and crazy....you know what. So what else could have triggered this? Did you walk in the plane like you owned the joint? Did you remind her of her ex? Did you have that "I just slapped the neighbor's cat" look on your face? I don't know what to tell you. Kind of in a bad spot to really do anything. I agree with 76er on this one. Totally unacceptable. Then again. Was she just JOKING and you took it the wrong way? Sometimes a joke doesn't go over too good and flight attendants like to joke to us technicians alot. I got alot of pilot calls and the flight attendants always flirted with me when I was in the cockpit as "ME" the hero coming to fix ALL OF THEIR WOES, then asked if I wanted anything to drink, especially in summer where I am totally running with sweat. I like to return the jokes but other times, I wasn't in the mood and had to concentrate on fixing the problem on hand. That's when they seemed to really try to get my goat, when I showed no humor back or had a "Oh shit what do I do?" look on my face as I was contemplating a fix for the quick turn. I've heard alot of words like...."OH WOW, HERE IS THE MECHANIC, or HI THERE MR MECHANIC, WILL YOU BE LONG? giggles giggles and more giggles, and I'm trying like a nut to fix a problem to keep the pilots happy. (I speak in past tense because I downloaded to graveyards in the hanger instead of days running around doing pilot calls. I got more peace of mind now. That's what bidding is all about.) It all pays the same too. No more radio strapped to myass. GIMME A GREASE GUN and leave me alone. That goes for the FA's too. Unless they got the nice long legs, blonde looks...........I'm gone.

Oh she was definitely not joking.

I thought about reporting her but she could say anything she wanted to refute it and then it would be up to me to prove it. I just want my free flights and to be left alone.
I have seen a co-worker get his benefits suspended due to something like this.

In post 9/11, you really have to be careful about what you say to an F/A.

Some time ago and I do mean sometime ago i.e. Pan Am was still flying the Pacific.....
I was on a PA HNL-SYD flight upfront together with a group of other airline managers going to a conference being sponsored by QF.
More than one hour out of SYD the pax next to me, a LH regional manager said lets have a drink and he called the F/A....when he asked her for two drinks she replied that the bar was now closed and therefore no drink.
The LH manager, very politely but in Germanic tones told her that this was first class and to open that bar and get us our drinks...she went away only to return with our two drinks and a cigerette in her mouth!! The LH manager went off his head.....true story....

Many years ago I non-reved on a DL 727, ATL to PHZ. The front cabin was empty (can you believe that!) with just me and a paying pax. The stew was busy flirting with him so she gave me a bottle of champagne...everybody was happy.

I've never had a rude experience. The one that stands out was FC on JAL twenty odd years ago. It was dark, watching the movie on the big screen and enjoying a smoke. FA creeps up in the aisle next to me, bows and lowers herself to her knees. She dons a pair of white gloves and bowing again, removes the ashtray from my armrest. She then cleans and polishes it like it is a jewel, replaces it in the armrest and backs away all the while smiling and bowing to me. Blew me away!

I would have reported that flight attendant in a heart beat, she has no business talking to a pax like that- be it a nonrev or not. It all comes down to treating others how you would like to be treated. Plain and simple!

I agree with you.
I just did not want to cause trouble.
The F/A could have easily put the blame on me in retaliation by saying that I was the one making a scene or that I was drunk.
Her word against mine...

Just went home for the weekend, I got an exit row seat and one of the FAs swung by and gave me a J class headset which was nice. On the way back I got a middle seat, but got given an aisle with spare middle seat at the gate. I always feel looked after by QF when I head home :)
