Tax on JetBlue
I have more questions about JetBlue.
On MyIDtravel I have notished that tax on ticket JFK to CTG Colombia is $34, but on returnflight it is $169.
I have never before seen this big difference.
Just curius I checked AF - BOG to CDG and tax was $69
Mystery, mistake or ?????

Hello!
What you are seeing are the Colombian Departure taxes. This same things happens when I travel to Caracas, Venezuela. Going I pay around $19.20 in taxes, returning from Caracas I pay $150.80. If you go to JetBlue's website and look at the tax breakdown you will see there are Airport Departure Taxes, Usage Fees, Luxury Tax etc... In Venezuela there is a Departure Tax, Airport User Fee, Airport Improvement Fee, Luxury Tax, Local Federal Tax, and more... Prior to the taxes being included in the tickets, both Colombia and Venezuela required payment via cash at the airport prior to departure. The new auto-collection is much better.

Thanks, I just started wondering, when i saw that tax on AF out of BOG only is $69, it must be a local higher tax out of Cartagena, but it is not going to stop us, would really like a trip to Cartagena.

Tax depend
1/from the departure airport
2/the international arrival destination
If I recall well there are no arrival, inspection tax when you arrive in France or they are low, there are much more when you land in the Us.
You will also notice that when you get a ticket from Europe or Asia to Canada versus Europe or Asia to the Usa on the same mileage zonal ticket (ZED).

Exactly. Colombia Intl departure tax. DL pays 75% on all international so It's a little cheaper. Still a bargain.
