Gates at IAH
Realized a friend and I will probably be passing through IAH the same day later this month, so I was thinking I might see if I can surprise her, but I'm not sure if we'll even be able to cross paths given IAH's terminal setup. (Never been.) Took a look at the map, but can't really tell.
I'll be coming in probably AA or US (Terminal A), and she'll be going out international (so looks like either D or E). I guess the question then is two parts:
1) Can you go terminal to terminal within security?
2) Can you get to international terminals/gates without an international ticket?
Appreciate any input from frequent IAH flyers, and happy new year to all!

All the gates at IAH are connected by terminal link train once past security. You do not have to show a boarding pass to travel between terminals.

Just make sure you get there the same day....

If you go to terminal E from terminal A, just take the monorail. It rides over the top, not the bottom. If you take the bottom terminal link train, you just exited security. The monorail links Terminals A and B to which are other airlines and Express Jet Terminals to the main terminals of C, D, E which are United Airlines and international gates. The monorail dumps you off between E and D.
