I have found here in ATL that the Precheck line is getting long...it was good while it lasted (still good, but it was great for a while). Global Entry is still the best $100 ever spent.
I would like to see them add international flights to pre.
You can solve the INT issue by separating your listings if they are tethered.
I used Preclearance in DUB they had Global Entry, too. Too bad I got the dreaded SSSS designation on my boarding pass but it was just a minor residue check and took very little extra time at security. They do a general scan for entry into the terminal, then a more thorough one w/ shoes off, liquids out, etc, just before immigration Preclearance. The other nonrev following me didn't have GE, so I said I'd meet him at the gate. He got there 50 minutes later. I took my 20 seconds at the kiosk and fast-tracked straight to CBP officer (no line for GE holders) who said, "welcome home". Saved me a lot of anxiety and time. Then the flight was delayed by late arrival. I found the crew at the gate so I hung out with them for a while. It was a nice 24 hr trip.
Got a few trips in October and November.....:)Can't wait to use it, and pre check
We're doing our major trip to Thailand--where are you going?
Went to Jamaica last week, but will heading to Ethiopia in a few weeks, not sure if it will be through Dubai or ZED directly from IAD on Ethiopian Airlines.
I started another thread asking if anyone can view loads on Ethiopian Airlines.
The Pre-check has been a breeze....although today I saw a pretty long line in Atlanta, at least 30 people.
Since last week I have been to 4 cities and each time it was either just me or 2-3 people on line at pre-scheck. But as I said today going the other way I saw a pretty long pre-check line in Atl. Don't now how fast it moved along though.....
ohrass--I've been in the ATL lane many times and half the people are rejected because they don't actually have PC. Too many people think this is just a short lane...they don't READ! It causes them to exit thru the same lane. Our servicemen and women are included in PC and that's always a good thing. Just a teeny little something we can give back to them. I'll take whatever shortcut is offered!
BTW--they added more airports to PC according to recent news.
They opened a precheck lane at the north terminal and when I went thru last week, there was no line. There also seems to be a better set up whereby the lane is roped off and an agent scans your BP before they let you thru. The wait for my Bojangles Cajun Chicken sandwich was longer than the total time it took to get thru security that day!
