Air France Non-Rev Standby

Hello,
First time using this forum, and I'm happy to have joined this circle. I wonder if anyone can give me the scoop about the possibility of being upgraded on Air France from CDG to JNB. It is an 11-hour flight on the Airbus A380. I wonder if AF grants the upgrade privilege to non-revs from other airlines. I am an active employee at AA. It would be such a relief to have extra room on the flight, as it is an 11 hour overnight journey. Thank you very much fo sharing your experience with AF as a standby employee from another airline.

We don’t have an active AF member on the board at the moment, but unless things have changed recently AF doesn’t upgrade OAL non-revs. You’re just going to have to go old school with foot circles, neck rolls and the always limbering stroll up the aisle. http://www.4smileys.com/smileys/cool...-glasses32.gif

They were pretty good in the pass when you introduced yourself, it happened to me numerous times across the pond or form South America to Europe but never to Canada. It' have been years that I did not flown AF on long hauls, I do not know. You can always check on GPnet and see the loads upfront, you will be able to have an idea. I think nowadays that it is harder and harder to be upfront with all the revenue pax upgrading. Good luck..

I'm with KLM, AF's partner airline. At KL usually only active employees (having a particular seniority) get C seats up front, even if there is availability in Y. I think employees of other airlines do not get upgraded unless Y is full. I'm not sure how the policy is at AF, though it might be similar as we're partners.
