I'm Chris Bagley. I started The Nonrev Network in 1998! It's hard to believe it's been that long. At first I worked on it maybe 2 hours a day for 6 days a week while working full time for Delta. I was in Res at the time. I remember reading a big html book whenever it got slow when I was working the desk that gave assistance to Swiss Air 111 families.
After a while it got to be a neglected hobby. I always enjoyed it but small children, work, and a lot of family drama always seemed to put it on the back burner. I'm thankful to all the active forum members, especially the Nonrev Correspondents, that stayed and kept the forum going.
For various reasons I decided to resign my position with Delta. My last day was Aug. 26, 2007. I was a Web Content Developer for delta.com for the last 3 years. I was with the company for a total of 16 years. Probably because of it's longevity and a few other reasons, we've always gotten good search engine rankings on The Nonrev Network. That, the faithful core group in this forum, and a strong belief that it would be incredibly valuable to airline employee travelers to have a single place to gather, share travel information, and network with one another, made me want to give this place a real chance before going out to look for another job.
An unusual set of circumstances have made that possible. I'm divorced now after struggling for several years to try to keep my family together. I have enough savings to last at least for a few months.
My best friend that I've known since the first grade has made his spare room available to me. So I went and bought a loft bed, put my big desk with computer underneath it, and moved some more furnishings in to set it up and have everything I need for business. So here in my buddy’s little spare room is the global headquarters of The Nonrev Network!

Ok. I think this last part is so cool, I just can't leave it out. It of course was a big decision for me to resign from Delta. I had prayed a lot about it and felt certain that God was leading. The gnawing fear and the doubt that I had after turning in my resignation was really just a lack of faith on my part. I prayed earnestly on the way to work one morning that God would help me with that and make me 100% sure and remove all doubt and fear.
I had forgotten about that prayer. It was a hectic and stressful last week. I wanted to get as much done as I could for my coworker's sake. I went into a small meeting room on Thu., Aug. 12 , my next-to-last work day. I had met in that room on a regular basis for months. Each time that I went in, I looked up at a framed picture of Jeff Francoeur of the Atlanta Braves. He was holding up a baseball bat and clearly showed the scripture reference of Joshua 1:9 on his glove. For months I had thought to myself, "I'm going to look that up and see what it says" but always got so busy after my meetings, I would forget. This time I jotted down the reference. When I looked it up I was a overwhelmed with how good and faithful God can be even in the midst of our doubt.

"Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go."
