Ahh, he needs my help but won't divulge his dates??? For fear of what, I wonder? That I might call the hotel and warn them of his impending arrival? http://www.nonrev.net/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif
Both hotels have an excellent location. Both are clean and offer good service. But, both hotels are aging fast!
I don't think it matters which one you choose. I suppose, if pressed, I would take the Knickerbocker. It might be slightly better but not significantly.
Both hotels are decent but very basic and a little worn and tattered around the edges. Depending on what your "excellent rates" are then I'd say book it and just know that you won't be in the lap of luxury - but you will be mostly comfortable and in an excellent area.
Make sure you know your dates, Hotwire isn't always keen on date changes!
If you want to let me know when and how long I can give you a couple of touristy-type recommendations. The first of which is King Tut has returned to the Field until January.

Wow the Knickerbocker, does that bring back memories... proms, I'm talking about PROMS; http://bestsmileys.com/dancing/7.gif excellent location, near the Hancock Building. As I recall the Seneca was converted from apartments (don't quote me on that http://www.nonrev.net/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif), if I had to choose, like Randy, I would go with the Knickerbocker.
Unlike Al, I am willing to divulge my Chicago travel dates, June 5, 13, or 20 depending-- those Chicago flights are packed. Could you post info on the King Tut exhibit (reservations?)

More likely it has to do with outstanding warrants... you know how Al is. http://www.nonrev.net/infopop/emotic...on_biggrin.gif http://www.nonrev.net/infopop/emotic...on_biggrin.gif

Oh I know my dates alright, don't worry about that. The rates are more than $100 better than discounts at more established properties like Westin Michigan, Sheraton, Omni, so I'm not really all that fussed as it's the location more than anything that I'm interested in. Will take the Seneca I think - far bigger rooms, kitchenette and most importantly, on premise laundromat !! This will be about 2 weeks after arrival in Nth Am, so that will be more than handy by then.
Not interested in Tut - I mean, when you've seen the real thing in Egypt, been down all those crypts and the such as well as done the whole day at the Musuem in Cairo etc, it just wouldn't be the same. I'll be there the week before Thanksgiving for 2 days & nights, between Denver and D.C.

Hmm, Mig we may be getting somewhere! No wonder he was so secretive! He's admitted to rummaging around old tombs and you've heard rumors about outstanding warrants. I wonder if there's a reward? http://www.nonrev.net/infopop/emotic...on_biggrin.gif
As for the Field you should try to buy your tickets on their site several days in advance. I don't think I'd just show up. A check on their site a few minutes ago shows most of this week already sold out and a claim of more than 200,000 advance tickets already sold. Even if you buy advance tickets be prepared for long lines and if possible I'd skip anything weekendish. www.fmnh.org
November in Chicago can bring a really mixed bag of weather. On one hand you could get some late Autumn warmth or you could be stuck in the middle of a snow storm. Just come prepared for anything.
It's a little early to tell what events you might have access to but the first that comes to mind is the Magnificent Mile Lights Festival, Saturday, November 18th. A day-long series of events followed by an evening parade and fireworks over the Chicago River. Schedule details have yet to be announced. www.themagnificentmile.com

You got it, here's Al caught red-handed by the tomb's security camera. http://www.nonrev.net/infopop/emotic...on_biggrin.gif http://www.nonrev.net/infopop/emotic...on_biggrin.gif

Any idea where I might get some discount tickets to "Wicked"? http://www.nonrev.net/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif
Thanks

Wicked at a discount? Not likely! Wicked is such a hit it's hard to get good tickets at full price. The only times I've seen advance discounts is when new shows are announced and the run is extended. The last time that happened was a couple of months ago. But this time they didn't discount, they just offered an advance sale at regular prices to certain subscribed customers. Sorry!

Thanks, that's just what I needed. I knew if they were discounting tickets, you would know about it, and I mean that in the most complimentary way. http://www.nonrev.net/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif http://www.nonrev.net/infopop/emotic...on_biggrin.gif http://www.nonrev.net/infopop/emotic...on_biggrin.gif

Hmmmm. Tickets. Plural. Are you thinking of coming to Chi-town when I'm there Mig and taking me out to a show and dinner?! How nice of you - of course I accept.
