I need information about Washington, DC. We are going next month I was wondering if anyone knows about the train system (or bus system) from the airport to the capitol area. I don't want to rent a car if I don't have to. I am also considering staying at the Jurys hotel. It looks good on the internet. Has anyone stayed there? Any hotel recommendations for the area? Thanks for any help anyone can give me.

Donna,
The train system is great from DCA, connected right to the terminal.
We stayed at Crystal City due to discounts around our corporate headquarters. There is a list of good places to stay, eat and see in this months National Geographic Traveler. They may have info on the Jury.

Hi Donna..
gotta agree with Coyne about the Crystal City area. There is a metro stop directly under one of the Marriotts there and it is so convienient... no car needed. Their metro system is awesome.. very clean.. and will get you everywhere you need to go. If you search it on the internet, I know they have all of the routes listed.
good luck and have fun!

If you can fly into DCA you are much better off, The public transport from IAD isnt good at all and it is also a fair ways out of town.
If we get a good rate we (bmi) try and put folks that come over into Jurys. It is a rather good chain.
To get to Jurys (Dupont circle) take the train fron DCA to Gallery plaza-chinatown (Yellow line) then change to the red to dupont circle heading towards shady grove.
Anymore info just ask as i live here
